In 2012, Mahmoud participated in the Vodafone Appstar competition, and applied skills he gained in CS101 by building a transportation and trip advisor app to map out public transportation in Egypt. He went on to take First Place and the grand prize in the local round, as well as 5th place in the international round of the competition.

We want to say congrats to Mahmoud and wish him good luck — he just graduated university with a degree in engineering, and we can’t wait to see what he does next. Mahmoud does say that he wants to continue learning more about computer science, and is considering joining the Masters in Computer Science with Udacity and GeorgiaTech.

Stay Udacious, Mahmoud!
