Major Milestone! Udacity Reaches 100,000 Alumni

Udacity has hit a significant milestone — we now have 100,000 alumni!

Hitting the 100,000 alumni mark as an online learning platform is not just an accomplishment –– it’s a reason for us to celebrate you, our alumni.

There’s nothing we value more than seeing Udacity graduates gain the skills they need to go further in their careers.

And, at the end of the day, we’re here to empower you with the knowledge and experience to help you land your dream job.

93% of Udacity Alumni Use New Skills In Their Careers

We’re not just excited about the number of Udacity alumni, we’re proud of what they’ve accomplished.

We found that 93% of graduates will use the skills they’ve learned at Udacity in their careers. This success is driven by the use of real-world projects — one of the cornerstones of every Nanodegree program — which helps students become well-versed in the skill they’re learning.

What’s more, we’ve seen that 48% of Udacity graduates will pursue a new job, 32% will apply the skills they’ve learned to their current role, and 13% will get a promotion. Way to go!

Udacity’s Most Popular Programs

It’s no surprise that The School of AI and The School of Data Science top the list as Udacity’s most popular schools, as big data and deep learning skills are some of the most in-demand in the job market.

The Harvard Business Review called data science “The sexiest job of the 21st century” and Glassdoor ranked it third in their “Best Jobs in America for 2020” report.

More and more companies are seeing the benefit of data scientists being well versed in AI, giving further value to deep learning and machine learning skills.

A Diverse Mix of Nanodegree Programs

Udacity alumni are incredibly diverse because we offer a unique mix of courses for every stage of education.

Students that are just starting their careers, or breaking into a new field, are building strong foundations with beginner courses like Intro to Programming

Others are coming to Udacity to upskill, and those students are diving into a variety of advanced courses such as  Self Driving Car Engineer and Computer Vision

Self Driving Car Engineer and Machine Learning Engineer are some of our most advanced programs. In fact, some of the graduates of these programs have found jobs at top companies, like Uber and Google.

Udacity graduates are also heavily interested in AI and Analytics, but our marketing and product manager programs are also gaining traction.

Digital Marketing is our fourth most popular Nanodegree program by alumni, which reflects the job market’s growing need for marketers that can execute a strategic and effective digital marketing strategy.

This trend encouraged us to expand into other tech-adjacent areas like AI for Product Managers and our new Product Manager ND+ upcoming in that series.

The Udacity team is honored to have supported 100,000 alumni, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds. We hope that you’ll be part of it as the next Udacity alum

In response to COVID-19’s impact on students and workers, and to stay dedicated to our mission, we’re currently offering one month free on our Nanodegree programs, as well as scholarships to recently laid-off workers. View our full course catalog to get started.
