BeInDemand

Excited to talk about Machine Learning, Data Science, and Artificial Intelligence? Great! Us too. Ready to discover the key influencers you need to follow to stay current on all the latest happenings in these fields? Excellent! We’ve got the resources you need.

You see, at Udacity, we talk a great deal about Machine Learning, Data Science, and Artificial Intelligence. We talk to each other, we talk to our students, and we talk to the world at large. If you’re engaging in these same kinds of conversations, then you know how incredibly exciting these spaces are—everywhere you turn, there are more amazing voices with more amazing insights to contribute.

But honestly, it can be a little overwhelming!

This Week in Machine Learning

To help manage all this content, we’ve adopted a few new strategies. For example, we recently launched “This Week in Machine Learning,” a weekly newsletter curated by Udacity instructor David Joyner. Each week we publish David’s new list of Machine Learning stories on our Medium site, and we archive his previous lists on our blog.

Influencers to Follow

We’ve also created a public Twitter list of Machine Learning, Data Science, and Artificial Intelligence influencers to follow. Some of the names here claim their presence on the list due to the sheer size of their networks, others do so by virtue of their specific expertise, and still others through the engagement they inspire from their peers. But they’re all having significant impacts on their fields, and they all have significant value to offer if you’re interested in these topics.

The full list is here, and below is just a sampling of the accounts we’ve included (and that we recommend you follow!):

David Joyner
Of course! Not only does David curate “This Week in Machine Learning” for Udacity, he is also one of the Course Developers for our Machine Learning Nanodegree program, and General Course Manager for the Georgia Tech Online Master of Science in Computer Science.

Hilary Mason
She’s the founder at @FastForwardLabs, Data Scientist-in-Residence at @accel, and she’s got over 73K people following her on Twitter. She’s also #1 on this influencer study.

Monica Rogati
An independent Data Science executive with a background in Applied Machine Learning, who has been named one of Fast Company’s 100 Most Creative People in Business, and one of Fortune Magazine Big Data All-Stars.

Peter Skomoroch
An independent Machine Learning specialist who counts among his previous roles Principal Data Scientist at LinkedIn, Director of Analytics at Juice Analytics, and Senior Research Engineer at AOL Search.

It’s truly a great time to be involved with Machine Learning, Data Science, and Artificial Intelligence. We encourage you to dive in and explore all the amazing resources out there, and when you’re ready to advance your career in any of these fields, we recommend enrolling in either our Machine Learning or Data Analyst Nanodegree programs, or taking any or all of the following free courses:

Intro to Artificial Intelligence

Knowledge-Based AI: Cognitive Systems

Artificial Intelligence for Robotics

See you out there!
