Mountain View, CA, October 2024 — Udacity, part of Accenture, has collaborated with Microsoft to introduce the Azure Generative AI Engineer Nanodegree program, designed to equip professionals with the skills needed to build, operationalize, and scale AI-driven applications using Microsoft Azure and OpenAI models. The new program, available as of today, will help bridge the widening generative AI (GenAI) skills gap that is preventing organizations from fully realizing AI’s transformative potential.
A recent report from Accenture reveals that 97% of organizations expect generative AI to be transformative, yet only 31% have invested significantly in the technology. Despite these expectations, 32% of leaders see talent scarcity and 36% cite a lack of technology understanding among workers as major barriers to the adoption of generative AI solutions. This new Nanodegree program seeks to address this challenge by providing professionals with the tools and expertise to integrate and scale AI in real-world settings.
Generative AI is seen by 81% of companies as a primary lever for reinvention, and 95% of workers recognize the value of working with AI. However, businesses still face challenges in talent availability and technology readiness. The collaboration between Udacity and Microsoft aims to tackle these obstacles head-on.
The Azure Generative AI Engineer Nanodegree program includes three in-depth courses, each with a different hands-on project, in which students will:
- Use Azure OpenAI services to build applications that extract valuable insights from data using generative AI models
- Develop and deploy custom Copilot applications using Azure AI Studio, Prompt Flow and OpenAI models
- Implement Azure’s GPT Vision and DALL-E generative AI models to create AI-driven solutions for image generation and analysis
Generative AI has the potential for companies to unlock an additional $10.3 trillion in economic value, and those enterprises with the tools, talent, and expert guidance they need to leverage generative AI are those most likely to achieve transformative business outcomes.
