Typhaney Bennett – An Administrative Assistant Turns Over a New Leaf in Web Development | Student Story

This week we speak to another inspiring woman—Typhaney Bennett— who went from being an administrative assistant and owning her own jewelry business to becoming a web developer.

“I wanted to be in a career that could allow me to be a positive role model for my 8-year-old daughter,” said the 41-year-old Typhaney Bennett who worked as an administrative assistant for over 20 years and owned a jewelry business.

Having been through a bad marriage and boxed into a career that wasn’t going anywhere, Typhaney decided to turn over a new leaf — and go  back to school.

While researching  schools, Typhaney spotted a Facebook advertisement for the Udacity Google Developer Scholarship. She applied for the scholarship  and enrolled in our Front End Web Developer Nanodegree program.

Typhaney has already kicked off a promising career in web development. And the rest, as they say, is history.

“I am happy to finally be the person who my daughter can look at and be proud of.”
