This multiple cloud computing course was designed to introduce learners to multi-cloud architectures and how to design and implement these architectures effectively. It provides learners with the job-ready digital skills they need to approach the shift to a multi-cloud strategy. This involves adopting a mixture of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) services from 2 or more cloud providers and sharing workloads between each—allowing users to choose services that meet their specific needs.
Basic knowledge of Git, cloud providers & Terraform.
In this project, learners will act as employees for a company that has just decided to deploy a cloud-native application. After much deliberation, the company has decided to use a dotnet app and SQL database in Azure, and NoSQL and object storage in AWS. Learners will do some research and provide a rationale for one of these choices, then design an architecture diagram for these services and providers. The end goal is to deploy the infrastructure necessary in both cloud providers using a cloud-agnostic tool to prevent cloud vendor lock-in.
