Skills you'll learn:
Prerequisites:
Course 1 • 1 hour
Welcome to Udacity! We're excited to share more about your nanodegree and start this journey with you! In this course, you will learn more about the pre-requisites, structure of the program, and getting started!
Lesson 1
Welcome! We're so glad you're here. Join us in learning a bit more about what to expect and ways to succeed.
Lesson 2
You are starting a challenging but rewarding journey! Take 5 minutes to read how to get help with projects and content.
Lesson 3
How to use Azure Credentials
Course 2 • 4 weeks
In this course, you will go over the best practices for implementing High Availability within the Azure Cloud using different solutions. We will create a backup strategy/plan. We'll go through migrating on-premise resources into the Azure cloud with built-in tools. We will go over how to monitor and optimize migrated resources to ensure they are running at their optimum level using Azure Monitor and Advisor respectively. We will also go over how to use ARM Templates to automate the provisioning of resources using Infrastructure as code as well as enforcing an organization's policies and requirements automatically through Azure Policy and Azure Blueprint.
Lesson 1
Introduction to designing infrastructure and managing migrations with Azure.
Lesson 2
In this lesson we will be covering services that allow for high availability, what patterns we should use to design as we move an on premise to the cloud, and network security and design.
Lesson 3
In this lesson, we will learn about recovery plan objectives, what services we can use to recover our sites, and what types of service items can be backed up in Azure.
Lesson 4
In this lesson, we will cover how to analyze your on-premise system to determine the cost of migration, create and migration plan, and then implement the migration from on-premise to the cloud.
Lesson 5
In this lesson, we will be discussing the ARM Templates to deploy infrastructure as code, what tools there are to configure management, and Azure Blueprints.
Lesson 6 • Project
Take an on-premises environment, plan its move to the Azure cloud, and then execute that migration!
Course 3 • 4 weeks
In this course, you will go over the best practices for understanding how cost management is an important aspect of a well architected framework. For each lesson, you will learn the fundamental concepts, how experts think about the topic, and then deep dive into the Azure offerings. Throughout the course, you will deep dive into how to design for a cloud optimized architecture instead of trying to apply the traditional on-premises architecture principles, how monitoring for cloud efficiency helps an organization bring transparency and visibility into cloud costs, and how to leverage automation of infrastructure autoscale as well as Azure available API’s for cost analysis to ensure cost transparency and savings.
Lesson 1
In this lesson, you will learn about provisioning for cost optimization and monitoring and get a solid foundation to set you up for success in this course.
Lesson 2
In this lesson you'll estimate the cost and VM elasticity using Azure Pricing and Total Cost of Ownership Calculators. Then you'll learn to optimize the cost and efficiency and adapt resources.
Lesson 3
In this lesson, you will learn to monitor cost efficiency through Azure Cost Management + Billing and Azure Policies.
Lesson 4
In this lesson you will learn to monitor operational efficiency with Azure Dashboards, Log Analytics, Smart Alerts, Monitor, and Insights.
Lesson 5
In this lesson you will learn to automate cost optimization and monitoring by first deploying and executing and automation. Then reviewing the Usage Billing and Budget API to adjust the automations.
Lesson 6 • Project
In this project, you will take on the role of Azure Architect and practice all the skills you've learned so far.
Course 4 • 4 weeks
In this course, we will explore IAM to help protect organizations against breaches and achieve compliance. We'll see how AD Connect lets you sync and manage cloud and on-premises identities. Always use Least Privilege to control access by leveraging conditional access and MFA. We will see how infrastructure and network design can use the Zero Trust model through tools such as Firewalls, Azure Bastion, and Just in Time. Learn what steps to take to secure data with secured keys. We will dive deep into Security Center to detect and fix top layer security vulnerabilities. Then we will dive deep into the SOAR and SIEM capabilities of Sentinel to identify deep threat detection and protection tool.
Lesson 1
In this lesson, we will look at the history behind cloud computing and Azure, the major stakeholders you will interact with, as well as the workspaces we use to provide access to the Azure portal.
Lesson 2
In this lesson, we look at identities, roles and scopes within IAM to protect against breaches and achieve compliance. We will use Conditional Access Policy and Privileged Identity Management.
Lesson 3
Security starts with strong barriers and walls. We will see how logical segmentation, tenants and subscriptions, resource groups help provide that security
Lesson 4
In this lesson, we discuss how we will protect the data itself. Key Vaults and encryption are two primary tools we have to help provide database protection.
Lesson 5
In this lesson, we will explore how Security Center and Sentinel are complementary pieces to the security solution.
Lesson 6 • Project
You are an Azure Cloud Architect for a business with a growing online presence and a desire to utilize the cloud for your IT enterprise. You have been asked to do ensure security for this transition.
