Announcing the Next Generation Tech Booster: A New Bertelsmann Scholarship

There’s something happening in the world of tech, and it’s good news for anyone who is looking for a job change or a new career. Most companies are changing to become more digital, focusing many new projects on digital transformation. In fact, studies show that next year, there will be $2.4 trillion in global spending toward digital transformation projects.

Unfortunately for many of these companies, there aren’t enough skilled workers available for digital transformation to happen as quickly as desired. This hiring gap means that there’s never been a better time to digitally upskill and move into a fulfilling and well-paid career in tech.

By upskilling with one of Udacity’s Nanodegree programs, it’s possible to completely change careers without going back to school full-time, all from the comfort of your own home. Even better, Udacity is partnering with Bertelsmann to create a brand new scholarship program — the Next Generation Tech Booster — to help digitally upskill eager students around the world for free.

Who Is Bertelsmann?

Bertelsmann is a media, services, and education company that operates in about 50 countries around the world. The company stands for creativity and entrepreneurship. This combination promotes first-class media content and innovative service solutions that inspire customers around the world

Bertelsmann has set itself apart by becoming a leader in technology and data in its industry. Over the past years, they’ve sponsored over 50,0000 scholarships around the world to develop new tech and data skills, particularly focusing on people with limited access to job opportunities and education. This past year alone, over 950 learners earned a Nanodegree certification. The #50000 scholarships powered by Bertelsmann will continue to make these opportunities possible.

How Will the Scholarship Work?

The Next Generation Tech Booster is a scholarship program sponsored by Bertelsmann with applications kicking off on October 23, 2023. Applications will be accepted through November 30 and are open to anyone around the world, 18 years or older, with English comprehension, and the interest to apply.*

There are three Udacity tracks available for this scholarship:

17,000 applicants will be accepted into the first round and enrolled in a Challenge course. Each Challenge course will serve as a demo for the selected Udacity Nanodegree track. In the second and final round, the 500 top-performing students from their respective challenge courses will receive full Udacity Nanodegree scholarships.

Udacity played a pivotal role in helping me achieve my career transition goals. The platform addressed my challenges of inadequate education and practical knowledge by offering a structured learning path, hands-on projects, expert mentorship, and relevant industry-focused curriculum. Through Udacity, I was able to gain the skills and confidence needed to enter the tech industry successfully.
