Great news! Enrollment in the AWS Machine Learning Scholarship Program is officially open. There’s no better time to begin your journey towards becoming a Machine Learning Engineer.

The Udacity team is proud to work with AWS to launch this program, and we hope that people take this opportunity to learn new skills that will better prepare them for the jobs of the future.

Enrolling in the program is easy —  simply complete the form on the Scholarship page and follow the steps to start the AWS Machine Learning Foundations course.

Don’t Wait — Seize the Opportunity

The future of work — increased demand for jobs in AI, machine learning, coding — is fast approaching, but the skills gap is widening. In fact, there will be 58 million AI and machine learning jobs by 2022, but only 300,000 people are qualified to fill those roles, according to a report from the World Economic Forum (WEF).

To help prepare the workforce for the demand for Machine Learning capabilities, we are excited to partner with Amazon Web Services (AWS) for our all-new scholarship.

With this scholarship, applicants will have an opportunity to take the foundational course titled AWS Machine Learning Foundations Course

Udacity AWS Machine Learning Scholarship

The top 325 performers from this course will get a scholarship to  Udacity’s Machine Learning Engineer Nanodegree program.

The Nanodegree program has been developed in collaboration with AWS and allows students to learn advanced machine learning techniques and algorithms — including how to package and deploy models to a production environment.

Developers will also gain new and creative experiences that introduce them to important machine learning concepts — deep-learning, reinforcement learning, etc — to expand their skills.

Additionally, Udacity and AWS will give developers a chance to advance their capabilities with hands-on and engaging machine learning techniques with devices, competitions, and educational offerings.

Don’t Miss Out on the Udacity AWS Machine Learning Scholarship Program

The scholarships are offered in two phases. Students who enroll will get a scholarship to the AWS Machine Learning Foundations Course. All foundations course graduates will get a certificate of completion from Udacity. Then, the top 325 performers in this course will have an opportunity to get a scholarship for our Machine Learning Engineer Nanodegree program.

The program is meant for developers of all skill sets from beginner and intermediate machine learning professionals.

What’s more, students can learn deep learning techniques and gain practical experience using Amazon deep learning and finally get hands-on experience with DeepComposer to deploy trained models.

Students can also A/B test models and learn how to update the models as they gather more data — an important skill for machine learning engineers.

How the Udacity AWS Machine Learning Scholarship Program Works

As mentioned before, the scholarship is offered in two phases — the foundational phase and the Nanodegree program phase. In both phases, students will earn scholarships to study foundational and intermediate level machine learning concepts respectively.

Phase 1 – The AWS Machine Learning Foundational Course

Students that complete the Phase 1 scholarship will receive practical knowledge in Software Engineering and AWS machine learning concepts.

Every student will unlock access to this course, which is the stepping stone to the complete Machine Learning Engineer Nanodegree program (offered in the second phase).

In the foundations course, students will learn to write production-level code and practice object-oriented programming, followed by learning about deep-learning techniques and applying them in a real-world environment using AWS DeepComposer.

The course will also come with a specially crafted assessment from AWS that will let you put your knowledge to the test. All students will receive a special certificate after completing the program.

Phase 2 – Full Scholarship for a Udacity Nanodegree program

Upon completion of the AWS Machine Learning Foundations Course and passing the subsequent test in the course, Udacity and AWS will select the top 325 performers and award them with an additional scholarship to the complete Machine Learning Engineer Nanodegree program.

Students will work on different machine learning-related tools from AWS and hands-on projects that will help build the skills required for a machine learning professional.
