Celebrate community-powered learning and the audacity to produce positive change, at this 2-day virtual festival that gathers together Udacity students and alumni from around the world! RSVP for Udacity Festival 2018 today!

Udacity Festival 2018 - 2

All across the globe, everywhere you look, you’ll find Udacity students—lifelong learners who are committed to self-empowerment through education. They are young, old, and all ages in between. They are novices, and they are experts. They are entering the workforce, and re-entering the workforce. They are landing their first jobs, and they are established professionals. They speak different languages, live in different places, face different challenges, and have different opportunities. But what unites them all, is a passion for learning, and an unwavering faith in the power of education to produce positive change.

Your Invitation to Udacity Festival 2018

If you are a current student, or a member of our alumni community, then please consider this your invitation to Udacity Festival 2018!

Udacity Festival 2018 is a 2-day virtual festival taking place Oct 20-21, 2018. The event will include:

  • Presentations covering everything from pitching projects and landing new jobs, to career change and entrepreneurial success.
  • Exclusive digital meetups for each Udacity school—Artificial Intelligence, Autonomous Systems, Business, Data Science, and Programming.
  • Panel discussions with alumni sharing their career advancement strategies.
    … and so much more!

This event will be a phenomenal opportunity to interact with the global Udacity community. You’ll hear inspiring success stories, get valuable insights, and have plenty of chances to network and make connections.

How To Attend Udacity Festival 2018

There are three ways you can join in the festivities. You can attend:

Globally: Every student and alum who RSVPs can log in and attend virtually.

Locally: You can organize an informal meetup for your fellow Udacity learners in your area, using this simple toolkit. (Let us know if you do, so we can share your news on social!)

Regionally: There are in-person meetups hosted by Udacity in Bangalore, Cairo, and San Francisco.

Virtual Events

One of the highlights of the festival will be the global digital meetups held for each of our five schools. Here is the schedule:

Saturday, Oct 20, 2018

School of Programming, 10am-11am PST

School of Business, 2pm-3pm PST

Sunday, Oct 21, 2018

School of Artificial Intelligence, 12:30pm-1:30pm PST

School of Data Science, 1:45pm-2:45pm, PST

School of Autonomous Systems, 3pm-4:30pm, PST

Each of these interactive Zoom sessions will feature a presentation from the head of the school, and will include school-specific activities and opportunities to learn about trends in the field, hear success stories from former students, and engage in breakout sessions designed to help you make connections, pool resources, exchange advice, and tap into the power of your network.

Virtual attendees will also enjoy an insightful series of topical discussions, including:

What to Say When Making a Complete Career Change
For this panel, we’re bringing together a group of career changers who’ve successfully managed their work transitions, to provide you with valuable tips, guidance, and support on how to make the leap from one career to the next by connecting the dots between your past experience, the new skills you’ve learned, and the next opportunity you’re pursuing.

How to Make It as a Solopreneur
This workshop is for those of you who like to wear all the hats, and who are ready to take on the responsibilities and challenges of being a company of one! Join us and learn the ins-and-outs of how to set goals, mark milestones, and scale your business in a sustainable, efficient way.

How to Pitch Your Project and Get the Job
This workshop is designed to get you from “Here is what I learned” to “Here is what I built” to “Here is what I can do for you.” You’ll learn how to pitch your Nanodegree program projects (and your independent projects as well!) in a way that gets the attention of your interviewers, and keeps you front-of-mind when it’s time for them to make a hiring decision.

Please visit our event page for full details on session times and panelists.

In-Person Happenings

There are already student-led meetups scheduled for London, Los Angeles, Delhi, and more! Would you like to create an event for your local Udacity community? You can! Here’s how:

  1. Choose a date and time (between 9:30am on October 20, and 4:30pm on October 21)
  2. Plan your event with our simple toolkit
  3. Create an event page for RSVPs
  4. Link Your Event Here by October 17th

Additionally, if you’re in Bangalore, Cairo, or San Francisco, you may be able to attend an in-person event hosted by Udacity. You’ll receive additional details on these events when you RSVP to Udacity Festival 2018.

Community connections are one of the most important features of the Nanodegree program experience, and getting together with your fellow learners in person is a great way to establish new relationships, deepen existing ones, and grow your network. It’s also just a lot of fun to swap tales from the classroom!

Celebrating YOU

If you have learned, or are learning, in a Udacity classroom, this event is for you. It is for your grit, your determination, and your resilience. It is for the bravery you show when you decide to learn something new, and it is for the risk you take when you put your skills to the test and challenge yourself to do more. It is for the obstacles you overcome, and the goals you achieve. Over the course of two days, thousand and thousands of Udacity learners from all over the world will meet, talk, share, and learn—with, and from, one another.

We’ll be there too of course. We’re proud to be part of your community, proud to have played a part in your story, proud to support the achievement of your dreams. We’ll see you in the panels, and at the school meetups. We’ll see you on-site in Bangalore, Cairo, and San Francisco. We’ll see you on social media from wherever your local meetup is happening. And when it’s all over and done, we’ll remember your faces, and your stories, and we’ll carry them with us to work on Monday, when we begin anew our efforts to support the boldness of your dreams. But first, we celebrate!
