Introducing the Udacity Community: Building a Path to Digital Transformation

We recently launched our Alumni and Learner Community to foster collaboration, support, and meaningful interactions among our students. We aim to share knowledge, tackle challenges, and build lasting connections that will enrich our students’ lives in today’s dynamic world.


Why build a community now?

Sharing is key to our community values, and we encourage all members to express themselves freely, knowing they will be respected and supported.  Building an online community can positively impact our valued learners in many ways. Here are some key reasons we started this community:

Introducing the Learners Community

This vibrant platform brings learners together to engage in meaningful knowledge sharing from diverse perspectives, and foster critical thinking skills. 

  • Learners experience a sense of belonging and motivation that propels them towards their learning goals. Witnessing the achievements and progress of their peers inspires them to push their own boundaries and achieve even greater heights.
  • Our dedicated Community Managers are the driving force behind this engaging platform. They curate events, facilitate discussions, and extend a warm welcome to all current learners.
  • Learners have the opportunity to participate in weekly live events, including onboarding sessions, study groups, office hours, and “Ask Me Anything” sessions featuring guest speakers. These events provide access to industry experts and thought leaders, enhancing the learning experience beyond the classroom.
  • Additionally, the Learners Community collaborates with the Alumni Community each month for a unique “Mix and Mingle” hour. This social gathering offers a blend of ideas, discussions, and networking connections, fostering a supportive environment where learners can interact with accomplished alumni and expand their professional network.

Current Udacity learners can embark on an inspiring journey of growth and knowledge. This community elevates learning to empower each other to become lifelong learners and achievers.


Preparing for the Future

Udacity is excited to build this community that revolves around empowerment through shared knowledge and a sense of togetherness.  Current students are automatically invited to the learner’s community and only learners who have graduated from a paid Nanodegree or course can request to join the alumni community.

With this initiative, Udacity further strengthens its role as a leader in delivering in-demand technical skills and learn-by-doing education that seamlessly adjusts to the constantly changing needs of the market.
