Kick Off Your Cybersecurity Career with the New Enterprise Security Nanodegree Program

Udacity is excited to introduce the newest addition to our School of Cybersecurity: the Enterprise Security Nanodegree program. This new Nanodegree program will help engineers working in enterprise companies gain a thorough understanding of security practices, particularly around data and networking.

What is Enterprise Security?

Enterprise security is any level of cybersecurity within a corporate environment, designed to protect data, devices, identities and infrastructure. Many people working in cybersecurity come from backgrounds in data management, network and IT administration. Work in enterprise security can include both local data centers and cloud-based ones.

Enterprise Security Nanodegree Program Details

The Enterprise Security Nanodegree program will prepare you to design, configure, manage, upgrade and assess enterprise-level network security systems. In as little as four months (at 10 hours a week), students who enroll in the Enterprise Security Nanodegree program will learn how to design secure enterprise networking architecture, harden systems, create policies, assess compliance, hunt threats, contain vulnerabilities and manage data with data governance in mind.

To get the most out of this course, it’s important to be comfortable working on Linux and Azure platforms, including set up and configuration. Additionally, it’s good to be familiar with networking and cloud systems.

Specific projects include:

Project 1: Securing the Perimeter
During this project, you will segment networks across security topologies to build a secure enterprise network . You will also restrict access across segmentations and build a VPN for securely accessing the network in a remote location. In addition, you will set up a SIEM and web server, create alerts for security incidents and write incident response playbooks. Lastly, you will design a Zero Trust model and write a comparative analysis.

Project 2: FedF1rst Security Assessment
Implement endpoints from an enterprise security policy. Recommend hardening strategies, create security policies, create build sheets for Linux and Cloud servers, and self-assess servers.

Project 3: CryptoV4ULT Enterprise Security Assessment
Review the security for a new enterprise technology stack, identifying areas of concern with threat models. Try to exploit vulnerabilities in the system at all levels of the application, from containers to external API.

Project 4: Data Security Analysis in Online Payment Processing
Analyze the company’s security  after being given a realistic case study, company profile and resource database. Make recommendations based on post-breach evidence, to ensure data integrity.
