From Tire Shop to Tech Analyst: How Michael Miller Transformed His Career

Michael's career journey began far from the world of programming and consulting. Working at tire shop, he dreamed of something more — a career with growth potential that allowed him to combine his technical curiosity with his passion for problem-solving.

In 2022, he took Udacity’s Intro to Programming Nanodegree program through an Accenture-sponsored scholarship, mastering foundational skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Python. Alongside technical knowledge, Michael gained hands-on experience through real-world projects and received personalized support from Udacity’s global network of mentors.

Michael’s dedication and the skills he gained earned him a full-time role at Accenture, where he now thrives as a Packaged App Development Analyst. His day-to-day work spans tasks like technical documentation, testing, and client interactions. In his own words, "The opportunities available to those who work in technology or consulting are life-changing. Currently, the work I’m doing is allowing me to pay for college, where before I wasn’t sure that I would ever be able to finish my degree.”

Watch Michael’s full story above, and learn more about how Udacity helps professionals transform their careers.
