UdacityTranscendAward

Our pursuit of new ways to educate is driven by a desire to reach every aspiring learner with an opportunity that is uniquely right for them, no matter their circumstances. The phrase “Talent is universal, opportunity is not” is a well-known aphorism, and from it we have taken our guiding principle for The Udacity Transcend Award:

Talent deserves opportunity.

It is no secret that time and money constitute significant barriers to education for far too many individuals. Far too many are unable to pursue the careers they dream of. Far too many are unable to secure jobs that will allow them to build the lives they deserve. Far too many cannot empower themselves through learning, despite their desires to do so, because of challenges around time, and money.

The Udacity Transcend Award aims to counter this by recognizing deserving individuals facing these kinds of obstacles. If you are selected to be a Transcend Award recipient, you will earn a Nanodegree credential in just three months—over Summer 2016—at no cost. You will master up-to-the-minute, cutting-edge skills taught by outstanding instructors. You will enjoy unique access to industry leaders and renowned subject matter experts. You will benefit from rigorous and timely project review, and you will receive personalized career support from a team committed to your success, to your future, and to your career. Our goal is to see every Transcend Award recipient secure rewarding employment. Because talent deserves opportunity.

Applications for The Udacity Transcend Award must be submitted by May 15, so please visit the Transcend Award homepage today to begin your application process. To be a Transcend Award recipient, we ask you to give us compelling evidence of your determination and perseverance. We ask you to share your goals, and how you hope to achieve them. We ask you to illustrate for us how the removal of financial barriers will enable you to succeed. We ask you to share the barriers you’re facing, and the obstacles you are striving to overcome. We ask you to share your story, and how the Transcend Award can play a part in your journey.

This will be an intensive experience for anyone who commits to it. Earning a Nanodegree credential in just three months is hard work. But we know there are individuals out there who are ready. We know there are individuals out there for whom this is the only way forward. We know there are individuals out there who do not have the luxury of either time, or money. Individuals who need to move fast, dig deep, and push hard. Individuals who, if given the opportunity, will use it to better their lives. Individuals with talent, who dream of opportunity. If this is you, then we encourage you to submit your application for The Udacity Transcend Award today. Because your talent, deserves this opportunity.
