Today, we are excited to announce the School of Cloud Computing at Udacity, with two new Nanodegree programs: the Cloud Developer Nanodegree Program and the Cloud DevOps Nanodegree Program. These Nanodegree programs offer access to the latest in-demand cloud computing skills using the AWS platform. Kesha Williams, Software Engineering Manager, at Chick-fil-A and Udacity Cloud Computing Instructor gave us this great insight into why cloud computing is so important:

According to Forbes, there are more than 50K cloud computing jobs available in the US alone with a median salary of $146K. Additionally, DevOps engineering roles topped LinkedIn’s “Most Recruited Jobs” list in 2018.
An Overview of the School of Cloud Computing Nanodegree programs
The School of Cloud Computing will initially focus on two roles: Cloud Developers and Cloud DevOps Engineers.
A Cloud Developer is responsible for developing, deploying and testing applications on the cloud or migrating existing apps to the cloud. Through hands-on projects and industry-relevant examples, the Cloud Developer Nanodegree program will help you build the necessary skills to develop and distribute applications on the cloud using microservices architecture with Kubernetes, and serverless frameworks.
The Cloud DevOps Engineer Nanodegree program is geared towards operations and software engineering professionals who want to build infrastructure that delivers product and services at both speed and scale. The program includes projects that teach you how to create continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, deploy massive infrastructure securely using code, and operationalize microservices using Kubernetes.
With the launch of these programs, Udacity aims to outfit students with the most cutting-edge cloud computing skills so that they can help companies innovate and reduce costs.
