  • Choose the date you would like to take the exam.

  • After you've chosen a date, choose the time you want to take the exam. Make sure to check with your school and work schedule to see when you'll have time to focus on the exam! We recommend that you budget an additional 15-30 minutes per exam, for example you should budget about 75-90 minutes to take a 60 minute exam. The extra time will be used to login to ProctorU, Udacity.com, have your identity verified by the proctor, and read the instructions for the exam

  • Add any comments you may have about the exam. Then click "Add Reservation" This should trigger a message that says "Update successful". Click "OK". You will then be directed to your "My Exams" tab

  • You will then see your confirmed reservation. You will have the options to review, edit, or cancel this reservation if you need to. You will also see an unactivated blue button with a countdown timer to your exam. The button will become active when it is time to take you exam during your reservation.

At the time of your appointment, visit go.proctoru.com and login using the information above. If you are a little early, you will see a countdown to the exact time of your appointment. If the countdown or button do not appear, try refreshing the page. After the countdown expires you will see a button that says, "Connect to your Proctor Now"

After clicking the button you will be taken to the proctoring room. Once you arrive at the page that looks like the chalkboard, click the button under Step 1 that says "Click Me!" After clicking the button you will be prompted to download and run a file.

If you have trouble with Step 1, please go to Step 2 and click "Help Me."

Your proctor will connect with you to walk you through the process and take you to the exam.

To get to the exam, navigate to http://udacity.com/proctored_exam

The proctor will enter a password to give you access to the exam. There will be a page that lists more details and instructions about the exam. After you click “Start” the exam will begin.

If you have any trouble with any of the above steps, please call 925-273-7588.

  1. Make sure your webcam, microphone and speakers are installed and working correctly. If this is your first exam with ProctorU, please visit www.proctoru.com/testitout to check your equipment before logging in. Be sure to close out any other web cam software before you visit the page.

  2. Be sure you are in a well-lit, quiet and private room. The lighting of your room must be daylight quality and overhead lighting is preferred. If overhead lighting is not possible, please make sure that your light source is not directly behind you because it will make it difficult for your proctor to see you.

  3. Please have your photo ID ready. If your webcam is built into your laptop or desktop (cannot remove or detach), you will also need a reflective surface such as a Smartphone, DVD/CD, hand mirror or compact. This is needed so your proctor can verify that the monitor surface is clear of any materials.

Have you tested your computer, Internet and webcam yet?

Visit www.ProctorU.com/testitout to connect to a LIVE PERSON who will test your equipment for you for free!
