Dear Summer College Algebra Students,

I am writing to introduce myself and help you get acquainted with your summer College Algebra course; it will run from June 3 to August 9, 2013.

My name is Julie Sliva Spitzer and I am a member of the Mathematics Department at San Jose State University. During this summer course you will also meet Dr. Sarah Norell who has co-developed the course and Miriam Swords Kalk who has recorded most of the lessons.

You must complete the following requirements before you begin the course:

  1. Watch this video to help you understand how this course works, and give you specific information on how to navigate through the course and the Udacity site.

  2. Read the syllabus completely on the course wiki and make sure you are available to take the exams and the final as there are no make-up exams.

  3. Check to make sure your computer has the appropriate functionalities to take the exams by checking the technical specifications. You MUST have a webcam and microphone for all exams. All work will be submitted online.

  4. Watch out for an email from SJSU informing you of detail of how to access Canvas which is where all your grades for the course will be entered.

Please do not wait to complete these requirements. We look forward to seeing you in the course.

Regards, Dr. Spitzer, Dr. Norell and Miriam Swords Kalk Your College Algebra Team
