CS255 Game Development Contest


We’re excited to announce a contest focused around the course! The goal of this contest is to build your own game using the knowledge and skills you've gained from the course. To enter the contest first see the official rules. Here's a quick summary of how to enter:

  1. Create an HTML5 game that builds on the concepts and activities covered in HTML Game Development
  2. Post a response to the forum that includes:
    • (a) text, image, video, or other media describing or illustrating what you did; and
    • (b) a link to the code that you have written; and

    • grants a Creative Commons CC BY-NC-SA license to both (a) and (b); and
    • the Udacity ID (email address) of the Entrant or Entrants, if submitting as a group, and
    • if submitting as a group, designation of the Entrant in the group who should be awarded the prize if your Submission is chosen by the Judges as a winner.
  3. You may also post links to supplemental documentation (e.g. images, PDF files, website, etc.) but this is not required.

If you enter, you’re agreeing to these rules, so you should seriously read them ;).  Contest submissions must be posted by April 8th, 2013 to be eligible for the contest.

We'll be selecting winners in the following categories with the listed prizes:

  • Best Overall Game will win the grand prize of airfare, hotel accommodation, and travel to Mountain View, CA for guest participation in a Udacity course and a single attendee pass (non-transferable) to the Google I/O 2013 event.

  • Most Innovative Game: One Chromebook (or comparable item)

  • Best Style Game: One Chromebook (or comparable item)

  • Most Impressive Performance Game: One Chromebook (or comparable item)

  • Most Fun Game: One Nexus 7 tablet (or comparable item)

  • Most Educational Game: One Nexus 7 tablet (or comparable item)

  • Best Use of Physics: One Nexus 7 tablet (or comparable item)
