Hangouts On Air

Hangouts On Air (HOA) were hosted for the first 11 weeks post course launch during fall of 2013. Let us know in the forum whether you found them helpful and how you would like to see HOAs used in the future.

Summary

Hangouts On Air (HOA) are events where video of the instructors is live streamed for anyone who wants to log on and ask questions. This is your chance to interact with us directly and hopefully get any pressing questions or concerns addressed that you might have, especially those that pertain to lesson or problem set content. Each HOA is run through a Google Communities event page, and the link will be provided for you by email, forum post, and in the wiki below. If you cannot attend, that's ok! The video stream will be saved, and you can easily peruse the questions asked and answered in the video. This is your chance to chat with us so please log on if you can - we'll be having special genetics guests attend these events every once in a while, too.

Schedule

Hangouts On Air will take place on Wednesdays at 4pm in the Pacific Time Zone. You can log on from anywhere around the world to join us! On Wednesday November 20th we will meet at *8am in the Pacific Time Zone* to see if that time works better for our international students.

How To Connect

You can find the page where the HOA will be hosted by clicking on one of the event links below, or by going through the 'Tales from the Genome' google communities page to see all past and future events. Anyone can view the HOA, but if you want to be able to ask questions you will need to be signed into your own google/gmail account. This is just a feature of the HOA (because it is a Google product), and getting a Google account is free and easy; you can sign up here. Once you're signed in and the HOA is visible on the event page, just click to play and you will see the Question-&-Answer column to the right of the video. Just submit your question/comment, upvote others, and participate in the discussion.
