About the Shell Train-to-Hire Scholarship Program

Take on an exciting role at a top energy company. If you have 5+ years of experience as a data or software engineer, are technically certified, and are eligible to work in either the Netherlands or India, this scholarship program is for you.

The Shell Train to Hire Scholarship Program aims to provide 100 experienced engineers with the FREE opportunity to expand their skills in one of two Nanodegree programs: Advanced Data Engineer or Advanced Software Engineer. Prepare for a potential career at one of the world’s leading energy companies, as graduates will be eligible to interview for advanced roles at Shell.

CONVENIENT: Courses are part-time and online so you can learn when and where it’s convenient for you.

FLEXIBLE: Our flexible schedule means you can put in just a few hours a week and learn at your own pace.

INCLUSIVE: The scholarship is available to students in two global locations:
  • The Netherlands (countrywide)
  • Bangalore, India

IN-DEPTH: Learners can access dozens of hours of free training modules and tutorials on data or software engineering and their real-world applications.

CUTTING-EDGE: Students get the exciting opportunity to learn competencies in one of the most in-demand and fastest-growing fields in tech.

MENTOR-SUPPORTED: All learners can receive technical support from emerging technology experts who provide weekly Connect sessions to help you stay on track and graduate. Learners also have the option to reach out to the mentor for any doubts

  • How do I know if I am eligible for a Nanodegree program certificate?
    Upon submitting and passing all your projects within the timeline of your track, you will be eligible to receive a certificate.
  • Are there any required documents to receive my certificate?
    Once you finish all of your Nanodegree projects, you will be prompted to:
    1. Upload a copy of your governmental ID, passport, or driver’s license along with a photo of you through the Netverify system so that your identity can be verified.
    2. Complete the reflection survey in your Classroom.
  • How can I obtain my certificate?
    Once you have completed all of the required projects for your track, a "Graduate" button will activate and appear in your classroom. Once you click on this button, you will be taken to a new page called "Graduation Checklist," where you will be given instructions on completing the graduation process. You can watch this video to help you with the graduation process.
  • How will my name be written on the certificate?
    Certificates will be issued based on the name provided in your classroom. You can edit your name from inside your Classroom settings BEFORE graduation but not after. Please make sure that the first name and last name displayed in your Classroom settings appear in the way would like them displayed on your certificate. The name displayed on your certificate cannot be changed after graduation.
  • Can I get a hard copy of my certificate?
    Udacity only provides graduates with a digital copy of their certificates. However, you can always download and print your certificate if you wish.
  • How can I prove that I have graduated?
    Once you graduate, there will be a "View Certificate" button at the bottom of your Udacity homepage under the “Graduated” section in your Classroom. There you will find a unique link to share your verified graduation certificate. This is a publicly viewable version of your certificate that can be shared with employers and recruiters as well as any of your social media outlets. Your certificate will provide your graduation date as well as the title of your track as proof of completion.
