We at Udacity have teamed up with the Workforce Development Board of Central Ohio to offer 500 free-tuition scholarships to residents of Franklin County. We think you’d be a great fit and encourage you to apply!

Program Details

This program offers the most cutting edge content in technology, aimed to give Ohioans practical skills to kick start their journey to be ready for the jobs of the future.

What does this program entail?
This program consists of a 3 month self-learning and guided learning journey with Udacity. Students have the opportunity to enroll in one of three Nanodegree programs: Business Analytics, Digital Marketing, or UX Designer.

Program Eligibility

Applicants for the Digital Career Transformation: Columbus must meet the below criteria:

  • US citizen
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Resident of Franklin County and surrounding area
Applicants must be prepared to commit to:
  • Dedicate 10 hours per week to learning online.
  • Attend mandatory 2-hour weekly virtual sessions led by a Udacity Session Lead.
  • Meet the prerequisite criteria of the Nanodegree program in which you enroll.

As a participant in the Digital Career Transformation: Columbus, students can choose to build skills with one the following three Nanodegree programs:

Digital Marketing Nanodegree Program

Gain real-world experience running live campaigns as you learn from top experts in the field. Launch your career with a 360-degree understanding of digital marketing.

Projects include:

  • Create, execute, and monitor a search engine marketing campaign on the Ads platform for a B2C or a B2B product.
  • Audit a Udacity website or your company’s website and recommend actions to optimize its SEO ranking.
  • Evaluate the results of a display advertising campaign and create a presentation of the results for management.

Business Analytics Nanodegree Program

Gain foundational data skills applicable to any industry. Collect and analyze data, model business scenarios, and communicate your findings with SQL, Excel, and Tableau.

Projects include:

  • Use statistics and spreadsheet programs like Excel to analyze data from over 500 companies on the New York Stock Exchange.
  • Query a digital music store database which holds information regarding the store’s media, employees, and customers.
  • Build interactive dashboards with Tableau and use them to discover and communicate insights from data.

UX Designer Nanodegree Program

Design impactful user experiences for products in today’s digital world. Build a portfolio that showcases your ability to transform user research to high-fidelity interactive designs

Projects include:

  • Develop a discussion guide, recruit research participants, and synthesize findings in the form of a research report.
  • Take a product idea through the design sprint process to come up with a user-tested low-fidelity prototype of your solution.
  • Enhance a low-fidelity prototype through the application of a data-enhanced high-fidelity design by submitting a midterm and a final project.

  • How does this scholarship program work?

    The Digital Career Transformation: Columbus scholarship program offers the most cutting edge content in technology, aimed to give Ohioans practical skills to kick start their journey to be ready for the jobs of the future. The top 500 students will be selected to join in one of the three learning paths available in this program: Business Analytics, Digital Marketing or UX Designer.

    Students will have access to the course material through their online classroom and will have weekly virtual Connect Sessions with a Udacity Session Lead. Connect sessions are mandatory, where students work through technical blockers and work on relevant case studies together. These sessions are a great opportunity to network, build connections and stay on track to graduate on time.

    In order to graduate, students must complete a set of projects within the specified timeframe. Throughout the cohort, students will also have career support touchpoints to support their professional career post graduation.

  • Are there any fees for enrollment?

    No, this is a free scholarship opportunity for eligible candidates.

  • How many hours a week should I expect to spend on my coursework, in order to finish on time?

    Between instructional content, quizzes, projects, and other course-related activity, we estimate that investing from 10 to 15 hours/week of self-study including attending weekly 60-90 minute virtual connect session will enable Nanodegree program learners to proceed through the curriculum at a successful pace.

  • Is this program online, in-person, or combination of both?

    The program takes place 100% online. You can work from wherever you want to, as long as you have a working internet connection.

  • What are the Terms and Conditions?

    Anyone 18 years of age and older is encouraged to apply. You must complete the application in full to be considered.
