Robotics Software Engineer Nanodegree program

If you accessed and paid for services for the Robotics Software Engineer Nanodegree Program (“RSEND Program"), your enrollment is bound by the following additional terms and conditions which modify, amend and supplement Udacity’s terms and conditions. Capitalized terms found herein shall also be as defined in the terms and conditions.

You understand and agree that, since the RSEND Program requires some experience in math (calculus, linear algebra, statistics), basic physics and programming, an application process is maintained for students to be included in the RSEND Program.

The RSEND Program has a specific calendar of Online Course start times that are not customizable for students. You are not guaranteed entry into the RSEND Program nor guaranteed a specific start time for the Online Courses.

Enrollees in the RSEND Program have seven (7) days from the first date the Online Course begins in any individual segment to disenroll and request a full refund. Fees paid for the RSEND Program are thereafter non-refundable for that segment. You may elect not to enroll in further segments at your option and the same seven (7) day disenrollment option shall apply to each segment. You must send an email to for request of a refund. For the RSEND Program, you may not otherwise access free trial periods, or other general discounts, coupons or credits, unless a program-specific offer is made to you. If your RSEND Program is paid for or sponsored by a third party, see the Sponsored Services portion of the Terms of Use for further details.

Structure of the Program

The Online Courses in the RSEND Program are not self-paced and, to the extent you are unable to complete the work associated with each segment of the RSEND Program, you may be asked to disenroll after the completion of a specific segment if you are unable to meet the requirements of the curriculum. Please see ‘Deadline Policy’ below.

Unlike other Udacity Nanodegree Programs, the RSEND Program does not maintain monthly fee pricing, but is instead structured in two curriculum terms. Each term is priced as a flat fee for the period. Pricing may change for each term from time to time between terms but no future fee increase will apply to a student while that student is enrolled in a term.

Further, because of the time-structured enrollment periods for the individual segments, the "pause" functionality in your Udacity Account shall also not be available. In addition, at this time the Udacity Fifty Percent Money-Back Guarantee, Udacity Connect, and Nanodegree Plus programs are also unavailable for RSEND Program enrollments. Certain other promotions may also be excluded in the future from application to the RSEND Program. The RSEND Program shall be solely for access for the period noted in the purchase documentation and may not be credited for any other Udacity program. Udacity reserves the right to modify or update these terms with respect to activation and enrollment limitations for the RSEND Program at any time and/or discontinue the program.

Deadline Policy

The RSEND Program has been developed with strict deadlines. When we use the term "deadline" with regards to Nanodegree Program projects, we use it in one of two ways:

  • To mean a final deadline for submitting all projects
  • To refer to ongoing suggested deadlines for individual projects.

It is very important to understand the distinctions between the two, as your progress in the program is measured against the deadlines we've established. Please see below for an explanation of what each usage means.

A final deadline for submitting all projects

In order to graduate a term, you must submit all projects by the last day of the term and pass all projects once they are reviewed by a Udacity Reviewer (the review may take place after the last day of the term). Passing a project means a Udacity Reviewer has marked a project as "Meets Specifications." If you do not submit all projects by the end of the term and also pass all projects once they are reviewed: You will receive a 4-week extension to complete any outstanding projects. You will only receive this extension a maximum of once. Once you submit and pass all projects, you can enroll in the next term, which will potentially be with a later class. If you do not submit and pass all projects within the 4-week extension, you will be removed from the program.

Ongoing suggested deadlines for individual projects

The deadlines you see in your classroom are suggestions for when you should ideally pass each project. There are no penalties if you miss these deadlines, however, you will be at risk of not passing all projects on time if you miss these deadlines, so it is a recommended that you follow the suggested deadlines.
