Computer programming jobs are much more diverse than they were a decade or two ago. Learn the basic coding languages, such as HTML, CSS, and Python, and then move on to apply that knowledge in a variety of ways. This program is an intro to programming that walks you through several projects that help you learn and perfect skills like website building, program dissection, and Object Oriented Programming. Use this Nanodegree as a jumping-off point to further programming studies, or as a fundamental part of an IT resume.
As you learn to code using different programming languages, you learn to see how all the parts of even the most complex computer programs come together to form a whole, functional creation. Study which aspects of programming are related to specific developer roles, and think about whether you might prefer coding jobs related to a front-end, back-end, mobile, or data analytics developer. For the final course module you are asked to choose one of these specific roles and complete a related coding project.
Study 8 hrs/week and complete in 6-8 mo.
