The future of work — jobs in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and other tech-driven careers — is fast approaching. As a result, the online learning space is growing and trying to keep pace with the global workforce’s desire to gain new skills to obtain and thrive in new collar jobs.

Udacity is leading the way in helping upskill and reskill today’s learners, by providing rich, comprehensive Nanodegree programs, courses, and enterprise services. And to ensure the company continues to grow, Udacity is proud to announce that Blake Tablak has joined the senior leadership team as the SVP of Global Enterprise Sales and that Kenny Kim has joined as Chief Marketing Officer.

The addition of these key hires follows the appointment of Seamus Hennessey as the company’s new CFO in early 2020, and marks a renewed focus on releasing impactful Nanodegree programs delivered in partnership with large firms such as AWS Cloud Architect, Microsoft, and Intel ® Edge AI for IoT Developers.

High-impact Senior Leaders, Poised to Drive Growth

As the SVP of Global Enterprise Sales, Tablak will lead global sales and sales operations for Udacity. He brings more than 20 years of sales and go-to-market experience with public and private companies at various stages of development.

Prior to joining Udacity, Tablak was an executive member of the go-to-market team at Workiva that took the firm from stalled growth to doubling revenue in just 2.5 years. Prior to Workiva, he ran worldwide sales at Topia (an NEA-backed Saas firm); global major accounts and alliances at Khoros (acquired by Vista); and spent four years at Bladelogic/BMC in sales and leadership roles.

“I’m extremely excited to work for Udacity — a mission-driven company that is driving the upskilling / reskilling required for enterprises to find success in their digital transformation initiatives. There is an obvious, massive shortfall of practitioner level workers in fields such as AI, machine learning, autonomous driving, analytics, etc Udacity is uniquely positioned to help companies fill this void with their current workforce.”

“I look forward to working with the team to drive enterprise solutions for today’s leading companies who want to train their employees in the skills that will make the workforce and the company more competitive,” he added.

Kenny Kim, Udacity’s new CMO, will oversee all global marketing efforts across brand, growth, product marketing, and PR. Prior to joining Udacity, Kim was the Head of Marketing at Google Shopping where he led performance marketing and advertising. Previously, he led the marketing teams for both NatureBox and SquareTrade. Kim also held leadership roles at other high-growth startups, such as Trulia and Hotwire, as well as more established brands like American Express and Ticketmaster.

“I’ve long admired Udacity’s innovation and commitment to training workers in the careers for the future. It’s this powerful mission, along with their unique learning platform, that compelled me to join the team. It’s an unprecedented time to be in online education as customers demand a richer and more interactive experience. I’m excited to show how Udacity is uniquely positioned to meet those needs.”

Udacity stands committed to upskilling the workforce for the future of work and our key hires will help the company to make an immediate impact.
